Obon Festival in San Jose Downtown

We went to Obon Festival in San Jose Downtown in Yukata. Obon is a time to celebrate the return of the spirits of our ancestors on Agust 13-15th so they do it early here...
San Jose

They had a Taiko drum performance.

and beer. (Oh it was a hot day so we needed it!) We also had a lot of Japanese food at the street but too busy eating them and forgot to take pics...

At the end of the festival, they had Obon dance. It was fun to see a lot of people---Kids, Adults, Japanese, Non-Japanese---dancing together. They have an Obon dancing practice class for this event so I will take them and join this dance next year. Steven was not so impressed by this idea but I will drug him and make him dance :)
